Royce D. Applegate was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1939, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He died on New Year's Day, January 1, 2003, in Hollywood Hills, California, in a house fire. As of January 3, 2003, investigators were searching for clues as to the cause of the New Year's Day fire, which destroyed his three-story home. Two firemen received second and third degree burns while trying to put out the blaze. Royce graduated from Midwest City High School in Midwest City. He was divorced from wife, Norma, in 1969. They had one child together, Scott D. Applegate. (1978), Fuzz (1972), They Only Kill Their Masters (1972). He made guest appearances on many television programs, including: CSI, JAG, Home Improvement, Beverly Hills, 90210, Rev. Clarence Brocklehurst on Twin Peaks, Matt Houston, Dynasty, Hill Street Blues, Little House on the Prairie, Hart to Hart, CHiPs, Vega$, Dallas, Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch, Mayberry R.F.D.
